Unlock world-class live captioning, subtitling and AI voice translations in over 100 languages for your virtual, hybrid or in-person event in Adobe Connect using SyncWords' integrations and QR codes. The process is simple. Reach out to SyncWords to schedule your event. We will set everything up in our system and give you the QR codes needed for your event.
Schedule your event with SyncWords
Reach out to your SyncWords representative or visit our Contact page to get in touch with us and provide your event information. This typically includes things like:
- The date of your event
- The number of sessions that need captions, along with the start and end time of each - you can use our scheduling template attachment located at the bottom of the page
- The language the presenter(s) will speak during the live stream
- The language(s) captions should be translated to and if you want to include audio translations or not
One of our team members will reach out to confirm everything and answer any questions you may have.
Send captions to Adobe Connect
You can use the SyncWords Live integration to send captions directly to Adobe Connect.
The meeting organizer will need to create and send an API URL to the SyncWords Live team (your Live Event Manager will let you know what email to use). SyncWords Live will use this link to connect their system to the Adobe Connect meeting. To set up captioning and get the API URL:
1. Once you have scheduled your meeting, enter the meeting room and then, on the Room Menu, click on "Preferences".
2. On the meeting Preferences dialog, choose the "Closed Captions" option.
3. Turn on the toggle for "Enable Closed captions". This will show you more captioning settings.
4. Under "Caption 1", enter a caption title (preferably the name of the caption language) for the captions stream in the "Caption title" field.
5. Next, from the menu under "Caption provider", select "Other captioning provider".
6. Click on the "Done" button on the top right to save your settings.
7. In your meeting room, you will now see a "CC" option on the bar at the top of the screen. Click on the dropdown arrow next to "CC" and then on "(Caption stream title) - Copy Captioning API URL". The link is copied to your clipboard.
8. Send this copied API URL to your SyncWords representative by email or in the meeting chat.
You are all set. You now have captions available for your meeting. Participants can view the captions from the meeting environment by clicking on "CC" from the top bar or on the dropdown arrow next to "CC" and selecting "Show Captions".
Each stream will have a different API URL, so be sure to mention the stream the API URL applies to when sending it to your SyncWords representative.
QR Codes for In-Person Captions and Translations
Your SyncWords representative can also provide you with QR codes that can be deployed for in-person audiences. They can be set up per session, or per room depending on your use case. Participants can scan the QR code and pull up captions or audio translations on their mobile devices.
