Using QR codes to deliver captions and audio translations for in-person and hybrid events

Not all events are fully virtual. Sometimes you need to deliver captions, subtitles and audio translations to  attendees in the room for hybrid or in-person events. SyncWords has you covered by providing QR codes that can easily be scanned by attendees in the room.

 

Step 1 - Get Your QR Code

To get your QR code, go to or set up an event in SyncWords. From there, click the "QR code" button.

That will pop up a modal with a QR code for your captions and subtitles. Click the Download SVG or Download PNG button depending on what version of the QR code you want. You can, of course, download both versions.

IMPORTANT: Use the dropdown at the top of the modal and select "Widget Dubs Page" to get the QR code for audio translations.

 

Step 2- Share the QR Code

Now that you have downloaded your QR code(s) you can easily share them with attendees so they can access captions, subtitles and audio translations for the event. Some common approaches to sharing a QR code include:

  • Insert it in to emails about the event
  • Print and display the QR code at the entrance of the room the event will be taking place in
  • Display the QR code on a screen in the room the event will be taking place in
TIP: It is good practice to include a note above/below the QR code to let people know what they are  accessing when scanning the code.
