Unlock world-class live captioning and subtitling in over 100 languages for your virtual, hybrid or in-person event in Zuddl using SyncWords' embeddable widgets and QR codes. The process is simple. Either set up the event in SyncWords on your own or reach out to SyncWords to schedule your event for you. We will set everything up in our system, give you the event ID to add to Zuddl and/or the QR codes needed for your event.
Schedule your event with SyncWords Managed Services
Reach out to your SyncWords representative or visit our Contact page to get in touch with us and provide your event information. This typically includes things like:
- The date of your event
- The number of sessions that need captions, along with the start and end time of each - you can use our scheduling template attachment located at the bottom of the page
- The language the presenter(s) will speak during the live stream
- The language(s) captions should be translated to and if you want to include audio translations or not
One of our team members will reach out to confirm everything and answer any questions you may have.
Add the event to SyncWords on your own
Create either a Human Captioned or ASR event on SyncWords for the date and time of your event. Once the event has been created copy the Event ID from the URL. You will need to add this to Zuddl
Go to the Security tab of your event and turn on the Disable Token Authorization option.
Go to the Widget tab and click on the Configure button to customize the widget.
Go to the Translations tab and enable the languages you want available during your event.
Add the widget to Zuddl
On the Zuddl Dashboard go to "Venue Setup" > "Stage". From there under the "Advanced" tab expand the "Accessibility features" section.
Under "Captions" enter the Event ID you copied from your SyncWords URL (or received from your SyncWords representative) in the "Enter Event ID" field.
Attendees can now turn on captions and subtitles by clicking on the settings option (gear icon) on that particular stage and selecting the language they want to view.
QR Codes for In-Person Captions and Translations
Your SyncWords representative can also provide you with QR code that can be deployed for in-person audiences. They can be set up per session, or per room depending on your use case. Participants can scan the QR code and pull up captions or audio translations on their mobile devices.
